In fall 2020, we released Ana Viajando / Ana's Voyage, a bilingual, spoken word piece, telling the story of a young mother's journey with her daughter from Honduras to the southern border of the US.

This story, while fictional, is inspired by real, harrowing, and horrifying events--thousands upon thousands of refugees forced to flee their homes due to violence (often incited or perpetuated by the US), poverty, and climate change. Upon arriving to the US, many of these refugees have been forced into detention centers near the border, only to be denied entry and deported after risking their lives for an opportunity to start over.

Former President Trump's "Zero Tolerance" policy removed children from the arms of their parents and separated them entirely. While that policy has been reversed, migrants continue to face mistreatment and abuse under the Biden administration.

This version, without narration, makes the cinematic music its focal point. We hope it takes you on a transformative listening journey.
